Go McCain/Palin

Okay, I truly don't like to blog about politics. I know everyone has their own views. I can't help but say something now though. I guess since this is my blog then I get to say what I want. I figure if someone doesn't want to hear it then they can not read my blog.

I wasn't sure when John McCain got the nomination that I would vote for him. I have not always felt the same way he feels on issues. He is a bit more liberal then I am. I was somewhat dissappointed when he didn't choose Mitt Romney as his running mate. When he announced Sarah Palin as his vice presidential choice I said "Sarah who?" I listened to her speak last night and I have been reading as much about her as I can. I have to say now, 'Sarah WOW!' I love that she is not and has not been afraid to stand up for what she believes in. I generally am not one to jump on the band wagon right off the bat, this is changing now. I am on the band wagon. I feel that John McCain couldn't have picked a better partner in this election. She balances his liberalism with her conservatism.

I admit I don't know everything about them yet. I plan on learning all that I can so I can be sure to make the most educated choice I can because it matters. This great country matters. The decisions and choices we make now matter.

I encourage everyone reading this blog (who hopefully continued to read) who is able because they are citizens of this God given land, to get out and vote! Hopefully you plan on voting for McCain/Palin (because I'm on the bandwagon) but even if you don't vote for them, vote for who you believe in. It is so important to take advantage for what Christopher, Uncle Blitz, John Stringham and other great Americans have fought for.

Okay, I'm off my soap box. Thanks for listening.

I am right there with you. I texted Paul during her speech on wednesday and said 'Are you watching this? She is Fantastic!" Of course he knew who I was talking about. I also did not want to vote for McCain on his merits alone but Sarah Palin spoke plainly, is a home town girl, soccor mom with a disabled child. She can relate on so many levels to so many Americans and best of all...She was not afraid to say exactly what she was thinking!! Go McCain/Palin; I hope you wipe out the competition.

I believe that there is far more at stake this election cycle than any of us know. at the time of George Washington it was a matter of "would this Country survive (and if you know the history it almost did not).

The next defining election in our Country's history would have to be the election of 1860 where Abraham Lincoln won and later (1863)delivered the Emancipation Proclamation to abolish slavery.

In 1940 we elected FDR for his fourth term making him the only four term president in our nations history. The World was at war and after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec 7 1941 The United states entered the war the next day by declaring war on Japan

Ronald Reagen was elected in Nov 1980 to a country deep in recession bogged down with high unemployment and inflation. On the verge of war with Iran over hostages taken from the US embassy in that country. And our fingers on the verge of nuclear war with the Soviet Union.

There have been many defining moments in our nations history to this point I believe that this 2008 election will be judged in history as possibly the most crucial election since the election of George Washington at our Nations birth.

George Washington among many others of the founding fathers warned about enemies within this country. They warned that this country could only be destroyed from within it own political establishment and no outside force could ever defeat us.

The lord also gave that same warning to the children of Lehi when they arrived in the promised land.

There has been a movement in this country that started in the 1880's called the progressive movement in the early 1900's the reputation of these progressives became tainted because of their anti-American philosophy and so they changed it to the Socialists. They remained a fairly secretive group but their numbers included some of the nations most prominent members including Woodrow Wilson our 28th President and FDR our 32nd president. During the first and second world war these movements remained underground but then in the fifties and sixties returned again more openly calling themselves liberals or progressives again. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have proudly declared themselves Progressive and have said that they embrace progressive practices.

That is where we are now Circumstance has lead us to this point in History. The players have been Chosen. I Personally do not agree with many of John McCain's political views. I do however, believe that he is an extremely honorable man. I think that there were better choices for president but we have what we have. I do however agree with you on the nomination of Sarah Palin. She is I as far as I can tell, a real person, someone that "real America" can relate to because she is one of us. As for me I will ride the McCain/Palin wave as far as I can.

I dont get to vote so i admit i dont really follow it as i never have time to watch tv. I watch the news like once a month and thats it. Ralph said shes seems like a real person but he also said that sadly vice presidents dont get to make decisons.
I enjoy reading everyones feelings on it tho as thats all i really get to hear about it. I guess if ever i have an extra 800.00 and become a citizen then ive have to pay more attention to tv. lol.
But great post connie and paul. I enjoyed reading it.

I agree that this Election is going to be a turning point for our Country. Whether we go up or down is our decision as a nation. I was really upset about this election, I wasn't sure what to do. But I have listened to Palin and I think a good slap in the face with the honesty stick is what we need and will be a nice change for once! So go McCain/Palin!
